This is ATHENA, one of LAYLA’S pups! She was born with a black coat! Now has a very light undercoat and turning chocolate. These adorable puppies were borne on the 14th of July 2024 and will be available for adoption after 8 weeks. We are taking applications now for these little bundles of joy. BELLA is a sweetie that just loves attention. She's a bit of a "jumper" and calms down immediately with a head scratch. She'll need a focused human for some training and would be a wonderful family addition. ADOPT

Meet Blackie! As of July 2024, Blackie is approximately 1 year old. This sweet, neutered male was surrendered by his owner and is now looking for his forever home. BLONDIE was rescued from the attic of a hurricane damaged house by some kind neighbors. Unable to take her in, they asked the shelter to take her. She is a frisky, happy girl looking for a home of her own. ADOPT

BONNIE was rescued in April 2021 along with her sibling, Clyde, and her mother Ginger. She is very spunky but a sweet girl. ADOPT

We estimate BRANDON to be 3-4 years old. He gets along with other dogs and we’ve ever had any incidents at the shelter. We don’t recommend cats, however. He is calm and laid back. He should adjust nicely to being indoors and becoming a couch potato. ADOPT

BUDDY is 3 - 4 years old. He was rescued along with Rambo who had a severely damaged leg. Rambo was adopted but Buddy still needs a home. He is very friendly, likes people and most dogs. He craves attention, so would be your best bud! He’s not shy at all. ADOPT

CELINE was rescued off the side of the road by a concerned citizen, along with her puppies. As of July 2024, Celine is approximately 2 years old and has been spayed. She is a very, very sweet Potcake who loves humans and enjoys sunbathing on top of her dog house! Celine is eager to find her forever home. CHARCOAL was surrendered by his owner and is approximately 1 year old as of July 2024. This neutered male came to us with a bad eye, which the vet had to remove. Despite this, Charcoal is a sweet-natured dog who loves to play with his brother Blackie and friend Max. He is good with other dogs and would thrive with a big yard or regular runs and walks. If you're looking for a playful and affectionate companion, Charcoal could be the perfect addition to your family.

CHOCOLATE is a neutered male, approximately 3-4 years old as of July 2024. He had entropion, an eye issue, but has undergone surgery and is healing beautifully. Chocolate loves car rides and is friendly with other dogs and people. He weighed 58 pounds at his last vet visit. COOPER is a neutered male that is approximately 4 years old. He’s frisky and loves to play. ADOPT

DAISY was brought in to the shelter along with her newborn litter of puppies. Since then Daisy has been spayed, she has put on weight and is the happy dog she's meant to be. She’s very fluffy and looking for a home of her own. She is both people and dog (preferably male) friendly. ADOPT

GIRLIE is an older girl and Dorian survivor. She was rescued when she got a bone caught in her mouth and owners abandoned her. She is very calm and gets along with other dogs and cats. ADOPT

HERO was an owner surrender along with Pepper in January of this 2023 at an estimated 4-5 months of age. He's neutered and heartworm negative! He is energetic and friendly to other dogs and people. We don't know about cats. He is quite adoptable. ADOPT

LAYLA was rescued and brought to the shelter while pregnant. Malnourished at first, she began eating three meals a day until her puppies arrived. As of July 2024, we are unsure of her exact age, but Layla is a young and devoted mom who loves people. She will be spayed prior to her adoption, after her pups are no longer nursing. Layla and her pups will be available for adoption no sooner than six weeks from now (roughly in October 2024). Skinny MINNIE is our resident senior and very sweet. She was pulled from a septic hole, where she was trapped and submerged. ADOPT

MOBY is a resilient and happy boy, approximately 1 year old as of July 2024, and neutered. He was rescued with a pre-existing injury, likely from being hit by a car, which left his rear leg shattered and his hip broken. Despite this, Moby has healed and can still use his leg slightly. He’s a mobile and playful pup who loves to socialize. Moby has roomed with sweet Wella, older girl Daisy, and now shares his space with another young puppy. These beautiful young Potcake boys, Nuke & Rocket, born in December, were surrendered by their owners. They love the beach. They could not keep them and are trusting us to find them great homes. ADOPT

RASCAL is a spayed female, approximately 3-4 years old as of July 2024. She has lots of energy and would be perfect for long walks with her new owner. Rascal is attentive, smart, and gets along well with other dogs, though we are unsure how she is with cats. She has short hair and absolutely LOVES WATER, so please take her to the beach with you! RAVEN is a sweet-tempered, medium-sized female with a somewhat thick and fluffy coat. She came to us pregnant and had six adorable puppies, three of which have already been adopted. As of July 2024, her puppies are four months old and have been separated from her. Raven has been spayed and currently rooms with Girlie, getting along well with other dogs. TERRO survived Dorian when abandoned by his owner. After Terro was involved in several dog fights and badly injured, volunteers decided to take him into the shelter. He is very loving but may need a little time getting comfortable with other male dogs. ADOPT

BLACK CAT is a very friendly, feral, and young neutered male. Although we don't know his exact age, he enjoys both the outdoors and coming inside.
